What is the Role? St Andrew’s Cathedral School is seeking a dedicated and organised Personal Assistant to the Head of Middle School to join our administration team in Sydney Square. This is a term-time only position, working Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Role Purpose The fundamental purpose of this role is to provide high-level administrative assistance and support to the Head of Middle School , as well as to coordinate significant school events. You will work closely with the Middle School leadership team to foster a supportive environment for students, parents, and staff. Key Responsibilities - Special Events: Prepare and organise key events including Welcome Evenings, Leadership Commissioning, Annual Awards Assemblies, and Parent-Teacher Interview evenings.
- Student Administration: Manage student sign-ins/outs, oversee Middle School detentions, and maintain comprehensive student files.
- Executive Support: Manage the Head of Middle School’s (HoMS) calendar and emails, process leave applications, and develop office procedures to increase efficiencies.
- Communication: Act as a primary point of contact for parent enquiries via telephone and email.
Essential Criteria - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Edumate (or similar school management systems).
- An ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to diffuse difficult situations.
- A methodical approach to tasks with a high level of attention to detail.
- A current First Aid certificate or willingness to acquire certification.
- Demonstrated involvement in an Anglican Church (or equivalent) and a commitment to supporting the principles of Christian education
