We are seeking a dedicated and proactive School Security Supervisor to join our Property and Facilities team at St Andrew's Cathedral School. As part of an Anglican school community, this is a meaningful opportunity to support the safety and wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors while contributing to the smooth daily operations of the school. Your new role The School Security Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing all campus security operations. This includes supervising contracted security staff, managing surveillance and access control systems, coordinating emergency response activities, and supporting front-of-house functions when needed. You’ll work closely with school leadership, contractors, and the wider community to ensure a secure and inclusive environment that reflects our Christian values and commitment to student wellbeing. Some of your key responsibilities will include: - Supervising day-to-day security operations across campus
- Managing and monitoring CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
- Overseeing the issuing and tracking of physical keys and access cards
- Lead emergency preparedness planning, drills, and incident response
- Act as first responder to campus incidents and coordinate support as needed
- Support reception and administrative functions during peak periods
- Liaising with emergency services and external agencies as required
- Assisting with safety training and orientation for staff and contractors
Who will the successful applicant be? To be successful in this role, you will have: - Sound experience in a security, law enforcement, or school safety role
- Demonstrated experience in supervising personnel and managing operations
- Competence in using and maintaining access control, alarm, and CCTV systems
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity
- A valid NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- An understanding of and commitment to the School’s Christian mission, values and ethos
