School Sports Coaches - Australian Rules Football (AFL)
Casual / 2026 season

What is the Role?

As part of an energetic and enthusiastic team, work with the Sport department to help to deliver our Secondary School Sports Program for the 2026 AFL season. Coaches will need to be available for midweek training on a Monday and a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon (to be set) as well as competition games onSaturdays commencing in May.

 

Training

Training after School (3:30pm - 5:30pm) is held in the Centennial/Moore Park precinct. Training will begin mid-March for training, and competition is expected to begin on Saturday 2nd May and conclude in August.

 

Inspire our students to excel in Australian Rules Football.

 

Who will the successful applicants be?

  • You will be working at football fields in the Centennial Park / Moore Park precinct for training and other fields around Sydney for competition games.
  • Bring specialist knowledge and experience as well as a passion and enthusiasm to coach and mentor in a school sport environment.
  • Ideally hold a minimum Club Coach accreditation in AFL and/or relevant experience in youth AFL.
  • Be a role model for our students.
  • Have a current Working with Children Check.
  • Have First Aid accreditation or be prepared to obtain it.
  • Model the St Andrew’s Cathedral School values and behaviours and uphold the Independent Sporting Association Code of Conduct.

 

Prior experience in a school setting is an advantage but not essential.
